Ryedale country showA new show, up in Yorkshire!  We are very excited to be welcoming a whole host of new exhibitors and entertainers, as well as welcoming back many of the usual favourites.

The horse boarders will be on the fourth of their UK challenges, so don’t miss the adrenaline laced thrills and spills of these guys as they hurtle round a field of obstacles on an enlarged skateboard behind a galloping horse!

Slightly more sedate but no less competitive are the scurry drivers, also on their fourth challenge of the year.  And all the usual country demonstrations of gudogs, lurchers, working ferrets, racing terriers andLH Thame lurchers-18 magnificant birds of prey.

We have our own dedicated ‘World of Dogs’ area for all you dog lovers, with gun dog scurries, lurcher racing and showing, terrier racing and showing, a fun dog show for absolutely anyone. We also have the amazing Philippa Williams (if you’ve been to Crufts you will probably know Philippa!) A specialist in dog behaviour and understanding what makes them tick, Philippa will be in both the Countryside and Dog arenas during the weekend with her team of gundogs, offering a hugely entertaining as well as informative display, and answering all your training related questions at the Scurry Banditsgun dog clinic in between.  Then there are local teams of hounds to meet and greet, and your opportunity to meet some of the more unusual working breeds, such as the adorable cesky terriers in the rare breeds tent. So bring your dog!  And if you’re worried he won’t behave, there’s always the training clinic to visit for help, or the ‘Best Asbo’ class of the fun dog    shocountry showw!

Birds of prey will be demonstrating throughout the day, with opportunities to meet and photograph them between performances. You can also watch the ancient traditional sport of working birds together with dogs, which is a fea of training because the two species do not naturally mix.
